Is it too late to start over at 50 and beyond?

Do you dream? Is it a vivid dream, full of details, and life-giving? Do you dream big, then wish you knew how to make those dreams a reality? Are you at the point in your life where starting over after 50 seems impossible?

You may be wondering if it’s too late to start something new. I know I have. There have been days where I've written the vision so that it's plain and clear in front of me, then still don't take action. I've wondered if it’s too late. I’ve procrastinated, stalled, started and stopped, and just plain old given up, more than I care to admit.

Today, I encourage you to be who you want to be. Not just in your mind, but create the image that you see in your spirit. It’s not too late.

From Winnie the Pooh: Pay Attention to Where You're Going

Pay attention to where you are going because without meaning you might get nowhere.

- Winnie the Pooh

The opportunities behind you are not your only chances to be the person you want to be. The past is just that, it's the past.

You’re over 50. Your future self will thank you for letting go of the past. It will thank you for letting go of the hurts and pains of yesterday. Your future self will especially thank you for making a decision to move forward and get on with your life. It’s not too late to start something new.

I heard Steve Harvey talk several times about starting over, even at 60. He mentions some familiar names of people who didn't become truly successful until they were older. I decided to do a little digging for people who experienced success at 50 and beyond.

  • Colonel Sanders founded KFC at the age of 62.

  • Geico's founder was 50 when he started the company.

  • The current McDonald's franchise model was started when the owner was 52.

  • Martha Stewart's first magazine was published when she was 49.

  • The Huffington Post was started when the founder was 55.

  • James Patterson entered his first Ironman Triathlon at age 52.

  • At 67, the founder of Urban Growers changed life for the population living below the poverty line in West Palm Beach with his urban farm.

Are you getting the point? Your past does not have to stop you from being greater in the future.

You may be wondering why the talk about 50 something. I started over at 50 when I launched my business, Inspired Eagle Enterprise.

I encourage you to take a look at your life, dreams, goals, and desires. Make the changes necessary to accomplish the level of greatness you feel that you can. Because believe me, you can do whatever you desire.
